The 2025 fishing season in Latvia was a true test of strength, patience, and strategy. Our team competed in three stages on different waters — each with its own character and challenges. Before every stage, we spent 10 days training, more than 30 days on the water in total, to find the right approach to the fish and develop a winning plan.
First Stage – Spring in Jelgava (Lielupe River)
Spring waters are always unpredictable, and the most important thing here was the ability to adapt to conditions. This stage became the solid foundation of the season — it proved that the team was ready to fight until the very end.
Second Stage – Summer in Koknese (Daugava River)
The wide, current-rich Daugava required precision. Every strike mattered. The competition became very intense, but it was here that we learned to trust the team and the strategy even more.
Third Stage – Autumn in Riga (Lakes, Buļupe, and Daugava)
The final took place on our “home waters.” Many think this is an advantage, but in reality — it’s a risk. Familiar waters can create a “tunnel vision.” Yet during the last training days, we made a bold decision to change strategy: abandon the usual pike spinning and rely on perch instead. This step paid off completely.
Results
- Latvian Champions 2025 in spinning from boats (both team and individual categories).
- Team gold at Garmin Predator Cup 2025 — one of the most prestigious tournaments in the region.
- 3rd place in crew ranking at the Garmin tournament among the strongest Baltic and European athletes.
What does this season mean to us?
This was the year when we not only outperformed our competitors but also ourselves — we overcame doubts, took risks, and found a new approach. These titles are proof of our persistence and passion for fishing.
But this is just the beginning. Now — a well-deserved rest, and then a new challenge: to defend the champion title in 2026.
